Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Culture problem

I’ve worked in tough places before, but nothing this openly dismissive of basic respect.

Indian Mafia in PA acts very respectful and deferential to anyone above them, disrespects anyone under them, and work to sabotage those next to them.

@mx just go and request ANY “digital transformation” team to show full history of actuals with benefits that don’t shift work to other groups. You will experience silence and probably hear infuriating catch phrases like “keep smiling”. You won’t see any real numbers and you will never be called again.
Next call the teams responsible for any “tool” and ask them for the requirements used to select that tool .. pick any. Majority shoved down our throats by people with no knowledge of the actual work and zero accountability for the change impact.
If you are a real gluten for punishment walk over to procurement and complain. You know the problem… that vendor just gave notice they refused to fill your order because Honeywell hasn’t paid them in 9 months.. again. You will get polite apologies from everyone , everyone except the procurement leadership who use noncompliance to contract terms as a quarter by quarter strategy to make aop numbers.

The issues are never in the small groups it is always systemic interdepartmental and it is absolutely engineered into the structure of Honeywell.
Smart people run Honeywell. Don’t think vendors are chronically not paid because of accidents… every time? Years after year?

I've been with Honeywell aerospace for a number of years and I don't have this same experience. What kind of things are you experiencing? Is it a specific group or Honeywell in general? More details the better. I'd like to implement any changes into my current team if possible

These behaviors seem more pervasive in the BA/PA side of things. No small part due to the demographics that VK built in his rise to the top. The new senior executives have decades of toxicity they need to flush out if they’re going to make any real change.

@OP It depends on your group, your boss and your upper leadership.

All of these factors create that culture. Not all areas are like this, if you stay and look for a new role... make sure you research the leader and how happy their reports are. Ask around what people know.

@a2 That seems like a ploy to figure out who posted it.

In aero most groups work very well. The only dismissive behavior I see comes from top leadership in asia. Often it manifests as a passive disappearance of the team. Sometimes you will hear “we are in workshops” etc. bottom line is I observe It is a routine occurrence for problems to be ignored and the reporter of problems cancelled from meetings etc. just last week I reported a serious issue with software visible in log files only to have my access to the share folders suddenly vanish. I suspect lead was directed to circle the wagons and make the milestone. Ship it!

Posts with no specific information do little to raise your credibility. Hoping you communicate better with your contemptuous colleagues. At a minimum include your business unit and geographic region.
