Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Quitting AT&T

For people who quit T without a severance but have some pension, what are the things you need to take care of in your 2 week notice? Is it as simple as turning your badge, phone and laptop or are there any financial and documentation wise things you need to take care of in terms of 401K

You'll be stuck on the phone with your mo--n boss while they try to figure out what to do. For me it was a hour long call of him trying to read and understand simple instructions. They ask a bunch of d-mb questions and your boss makes the determination about if you should ever be hired back at att, so know that if it matters to you. They will ship youba box for whatever assets they want back. You'll get an email with instructiins on how to sign up as a former employee to get your w2 and other paperwork. You do not need to contact fidelity unless you're going to retire. No need to give any notice really. I forwarded stinkys love letter about how were all ungrateful and replaceable to my boss and let him know it was my last day. Already had a new job anyways. Best of luck to you. ATT is the worst company.

Leave open cans of sardines everywhere. Under floor tiles, in heat vents, between cubicle walls. Use Surströmming instead if you can get it.

@aj That tells quite the story; hard to stay, easy to leave.

There is a retirement checklist, which is very outdated as management doesn’t get benefits, but you need to call Fidelity. You also need to update the benefit site to personal email and phone so you can log in to get W2.
Check Wellbeing account.

I just don't understand how so many unmotivated people with no values, morals, or standards slip through the cracks to get hired at AT&T.

You are not required to give them 2 weeks notice.

I will say leaving was handled professionally. While working there su-ks because their culture is dog sh-t, they were first class on the way out.
