Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Feeling low, this place is eating at me

I’ve never felt this way and I’ve been here a while but I’m feeling so defeated here. The environment is cold, uninviting almost morgue like. We no longer have our own “place”. That has been taken away. We’re expected to be okay with all the changes they have made that benefit them but not us. We’re expected to align and become these cold blooded creatures that are okay being mistreated. I can’t do that. I’m a human being, we all are. We have emotions and we want to feel appreciated. I miss the old U.S. Bank.

@ab

Spite is a great motivator and I enjoy seeing how little I can accomplish and how many company resources I can waste.

Quit? Nah. That's what I they want and I'm not in an agreeable mindset lately.

What do you do you mean not being able to keep anything at your cubicle isn't boosting morale? You don't want to carry an extra bag to haul all your things you need for the office every time you go in? You don't like reserving your desk every time? Aw that makes GK sad… She spent a lot of time thinking about how to inconvenience us the most.

Welcome to why the third world is the third world. The brahmin caste is worthless without their slaves, so all objectives are driven by controlling the slaves. For example, can fire offshore workers at will so they are far easier to control and force them to lie on your behalf so they become patsies.

And you definitely can't have free thought or people speaking up (or almost any western European cultural norms for that matter).

@ab What you think we are doing? Many of us are looking to leave but it takes time. In the meantime we can all agree this is the current state of the bank.

@ab are you really that out of touch? The job market SU-KS!!!!! USB pays low and tosses us around BECAUSE of the job market. They know 80% of us who still have a job can't leave. They do all this because they can. They can afford to cut really thin and not care about us because the labor market is in their favor, by far.

One of the smartest, highest qualified people in my field I've ever met personally (I know there are better in the world but I am referring to people I know personally) works at the bank. Hands down the best of his/her in the bank for their job family. If they aren't the best, then I don't know the ones who are better. But I guarantee you the are in the top 5 in the bank, and almost everyone in our job family knows this person. This person's first name begins with P. I will just say that.

They have been looking for a year and can't get any response from anything, when 5 years ago he/she would have had responses from almost all applications. If that person can't get a job, then something is way off in the labor market.

LinkedIn is flooded with 1000s of people on "open to work". Ask an HR Recruiter how many applicants they get per opening. It's 100s.

Get a better job, yeah no sh-t sherlock, most of us want another option. But it's not realistic in 2026 for 80% of people who can do their job well. Trumpnomics.

Honestly I don’t mean this to be rude in any way but if you feel like this you should explore other options. Seriously, why stay?
