spent 5 months here, genuinely nice guy. Not sure what went wrong here. I hoped he will drive meaningful change here.

It was NA. He dont have a linkedin profile, a single blog post. Product annoucment video or any online presence for an executive who supposedly led aws marketplace and Tesla. My 2 cents...either he was caught faking his experience or his nexus with best buddy ( CPO) was exposed. One way or the other TD will pay back with 0 % market adjustment for 2026 ( because we already pay the best in industry)
@231 how can someone defraud RSU, isn’t it fixed vesting ?
He got pushed out due to RSU fraud.
It should be pretty easy to deduce. If they started a new job immediately, one would think they left under their own decisions.
If they were fired, one would think it would take some time to interview etc to find a new role.
But I cant imagine how bad you would have to fu-k up at this company to get fired within a few months, so I'm leaning toward the former.
@1th trade secret at teradata? Do tell. I see your logic though, but a SVP has to be absolute d-mb to copy some slides getting out the door in five months. However, many VP at teradata actually are that d-mb. If one or two become SVP, that will be a teradata trade secret defining moment, true.
Why would you give someone 2 weeks if they announced that they're going to a different company? If they already have a job somewhere else they might try to walk with trade secrets. Other than training your replacement which would have to be someone from within. Theres limited value in them staying around.
@1kw the grapevine is correct. There was a note about immediate departure instead of usual 2 week notice for someone finding a greener pasture elsewhere and time for transition
@1k3 your grapevine is probably not correct. He went for a C level role from what i know and many folks in the org are trying to hop on with him including myself.
Teradata is a sh-t show.
NA. He was bad. Hired lot of unwanted and expensive engineers, under the guise of AI enablement. Just wasted everyone’s time and energy.
Grapevine says he was kicked out not left on his own. And it was pretty unceremoniously done. US DHS secretary was let go in a much better fashion
Let's recap. One SVP. Stays five months and leaves. They were interviewing immediately if not before. And now there are two new executive level hires to replace him?
But remember, no COL raises, bonuses very restricted this year as per discretionary by new leadership, and people are expected to be exponentially more productive by end of year.
The culture is work yourself to burnout, do not expect rest, do more faster, get not financial incentive, but watch us hire a lot of new heads.
Very demotivating.
@14w I guess it was the SVP from Products who suddenly disappeared. Been on couple of meetings with him, pretty knowledgeable and seemed like a great guy. But god knows what's going on with the CPO and his team.
Who is it/ what org?
@ah Doubtful. He was certainly more successful than you and recognized what you dont.
Its a loss for TDC, I met him in his India visit... Amazing energy, very positive and quite technical. No doubt TD couldn't preserve him here.
@am I disagree with you, he was probably one the strongest leaders I have seen in my 10 years at Teradata.Quick decision maker, had a clear plan and was executing with his team. I have heard many people are eager to hop on with him in his new job.
@ac yep! That's what they did to me. Smoke and mirrors until you quit your previous job to join this "great company with great culture".
Is anyone gonna post who it was? Or at least what org?
@ah not true. Could be that he was gas lighted by the CPO / CEO. Anyways, the team he was on is now clueless, no one in that team can get their sh-t together, everyone's trying to be a boss now. The calls are a chaos.
@am imo his meetings were straightforward, he called out people if they weren't delivering on commitments / weren't doing their job properly. So I won't agree this comment here.
Not well liked or respected among many. Most are happy he is gone.
I don't mean to judge them but maybe they didn't have the fortitude or strength to survive long term here. I see as being more on them vs a failure on Teradata
Most probably was sold a false promise that he was joining a great company. Quickly realised once on board that it ain't so rosy and just a sham of a company, so jumped ship as soon as possible. Again it shows how bad things really are
Only shocked it's just one so far.
What was his name?
He quickly realized his mistake...
