Do we still have a strategy function? What do they do? Just making decks again, or driving value? If the latter, when does the value part happen?
If no value… why… you know… do we have them? Overpriced MBA’s gotta go somewhere. Why here?

Having lost a relative half a trillion in value… why wasn’t strategy and finance completely gutted?

Glorified chiefs of staff without the ability, authority, vision, experience, or functional knowledge to deliver anything of value to the company, or the function they’re assigned. Each function has one. Has for 10+ years.
If company value doesn’t increase, isn’t that literally a shortcoming of its strategy? What am I missing? They are the highest paid and most Ivy credentialed players in the game.
…and yet, as individuals and as a function; can’t see the end of their nose. Let alone providing strategic insights or direction for the company.
Has strategy ever created tangible value? That would be a good first place to cut, no? Instead we layoff the doers and keep promoting the PowerPoint warriors. Make it make sense.
