Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

Do managers get reports about their direct reports time at the office?

Based on the other thread seems like it’s possible, although not sure if only HR can view that or if managers get that report as well. Any managers here can confirm or refute this?

@a9 this is incorrect. I can have a report pulled at anytime for hours in office/vpn location.
How about just following the policy? It’s not that difficult and those playing games are going have us in 5x8.

Last year management moved 2000 employees to Accenture payroll, you didn't raised you voice for that . But coming back to office - is it a big problem.

I’m just waiting to go back to 5 days because of d-mba$$ and entitled people like you. It’s a job. Coming in and working most of the day from an office is a requirement (gasp!! How could they!!?) Do it or leave - we won’t miss you. You are all annoying as heck on this stuff. I feel sorry for your kids.

@c5 you mean on the Monday when most people WFH because everyone hates Mondays? Oh and also because she visited the wrong office?
Worst CEO ever at TIAA or any other company, hands down.

Just like with everything, these a--holes will find a reason to get rid of you. Don’t make up some excuse or some bullsh-t rule. This all started from when Temu (“T” whatever) showed up to Lewisville on a Monday expecting everyone to be there with her dum--ss, and threw a fit. But she loves her money and she’ll find whatever reason she can’t get more of it even if it’s firing people or closing Denver.

So glad I’m no longer at TIAA. The nanny state is rampant. All of the resources to track days/hours in office is ridiculous…both from the company’s perspective and the associate’s perspective.

What gets measured gets controlled. What things aren’t being controlled by heavily focusing on things that shouldn’t matter? That’s the real question.

@a7 No...only HR has that info and only shares it team managers when they are ready to fire someone

@a4

This is for the days, but what about the actual time spent in the office? Is that inckuded in the report too?

They can barely get the 3 day in office requirement right 100% of the time and never show us the data to validate. Sure they can track most associates time in office vs a VPN (or via Zscaler VPA) but the license plate reader thing is only easier for folks in Charlotte or Frisco that don’t carpool. Plus even though they say don’t piggyback a ton of people still do and but just badge a time or few at some point in the day.

When I was there (I and many others) had a spreadsheet tracking my days to make sure it matched the weekly refresh. If I was still there I would add my hours to it too so I had a backup to prove my in/out times….

Note: You can see your connection “start time” on Cisco AnyConnect or Zscaler …so if you can see it, IT can see it and HR can get the data and track it. If I were still there I would add my login (and logoff time manually later) to that spreadsheet for backup. Maybe don’t shut down or log off but put computer to sleep so you can see the time last connected upon reconnect to add it to your time tracking sheet.

Yes. They get reports any time someone goes below the average. And you are sent an email and your manger is CCd

Omg some of you people are so obsessed with time in the office. Just show up to work and do your three days. Jesus Christ, why is this so hard? Yes, they get reports if the average dips below 3 on the 8 week average
