My union president said a strike is the only thing to prevent major concessions being demanded in beargaing by the company. Be ready to accept 1.5 and if lucky some 2’s and crazy insurance increases like we have never seen.

I don't know why some of union members think non-union employes don't like the idea of strike. Overtime was sweet, Free travel was sweet. personal situations may vary but many liked to go do the work during the strike.
Most importantly, many actually supports the union strike whether you believe or not. We just don't have a choice to join...
@gg not going to happen.
@bf we're ready and all settup for strike pay.
@OP SAD
4x4x4
@bz 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I heard from my local union president, Local 69420, that all union members are getting a 5% pay cut, paying 25% more for insurance, and all call center workers are being fired. Field techs will need to take calls throughout the day while working. Verizon and the union both had their own respective AI programs negotiate with each other and decided this is the most equitable option for everyone.
Welcome to real life and what the entire rest of the rold experiences. You're not special and neither is anyone else
No one can do the 15 minutes of work I do a day, and by the way that’s probably 10 minutes more than most of my co workers. Way too technical, no one can splice fiber but me 🤡
@bn agree!!!
Another wireless clown talking out of their A$$ to stir the pot
@ba whut????? no way
Neither the company nor the union are in a position for a strike. If it happens, everyone loses.
@aq Vz and ourselves pay into unemployment every paycheck. The unemployment does not come from Verizon. It comes from unemployment. The more people that file for it from Verizon can cause their UE insurance to go up though.
I can't wait, I worked 56 days straight last time, doo ray me double time bucu bux $$$
@an 😆
My president is telling me we’re gonna owe the company 2% and need to get basic medical training so we can take care of other union members.
@b4 👍 🤝
@b5 your full of sh-t! Sorry you lost your job,take your meds and move on.
@b5 your full of sh-t. Sorry you lost your job! Move on!
This person knows nothing. Just a troll trying to stir the sh-t
@OP My president is saying that it’s now 1 percent across the board, we are losing part of the disability plan and we are losing some call center work in NY. It’s going to Thailand. We are losing linemen work in Massachusetts because it’s getting contracted out. But IBEW doesn’t care cause they represent the company getting the work. We are being sold out.
Just non union people trying to stoke up the trouble no one knows what’s going on
@az who the fu-k you calling a scab! Go back in mommy's basement and leave this to the grown ups!
Who’s your union president and what local? If they’re willing to give this info out then name the source.
You guys are falling for this again? This post is BS. You guys are too gullible.
@aw it’s coming scab- whether you like it or not
absence of an extension agreement and unresolved issues means the risk of a strike is real. However I would look for the union to push for at least a year extension. That way all the union contracts sync up. Most of the Frontier deals expire in 2027. Power in numbers.
All raises should start with 4’s, no healthcare increases, more vacation time.
@av absolutely not!
strike long and hard
@an not sure I agree with this. NLRB is decidely not favorable this time. That's what made the difference last time. We were out for like 6 weeks, thank God we had a DEM administration then
No chance. If we do, it’s no more than 2 weeks. NY state unemployment kicks in after 2 weeks. Verizon isn’t paying that out.
just curious about insurance increase you are talking about.
I believe union and nonunion use the same insurance based on the agreement two renewal ago. Increase this year wasn't crazy for non union member...
what kind of crazy insurance increase are you taking about?
The union has never been in a stronger position to strike
All the new vz internal slogans sound like mamdani
Collective. Together. All communist propaganda
@OP you dont know sh-t!
@a6 because they are full of sh-t!
@OP yeah agreed what local? I guess we can listen to who is saying strike and who is not and draw our own conclusions. But 1 and 2 percent increases ain’t cutting it. Union better not accept that and try to say it’s a good deal. Since I work from home, can I picket at my house?
What is the local's number? Everyone leaves that out.
