It’s a complete joke. My boss is doing the exact same thing. I genuinely don’t think he’s read anything longer than a text message in his life. At this point, it’s no surprise that intellectual laziness has become a full-blown pandemic in America.

Hahahaha!! If you’re going to use AI to write your review, make sure you can pronounce the words and know what the mean.
Same, my supervisor was told to use AI for coaching & reviews for now on. She doesn’t like it but have to do it!

AI is good for focusing your thoughts, checking grammar, and maybe ensuring you’ve made your point. If your boss doesn’t understand the words in the review then he never reviewed you.
Mine sounds like a three year old when he speaks or posts in Slack, but in my review he suddenly sounds like he has a PhD in English. It’s disingenuous and harmful.
You know the 40 IQ coworker whose using Gemini to write their 3 paragraph email with bullet points that could have been 6 words

Im not surprised at all, so many people are intellectually lazy nowadays. Don't crack open a book, that's too hard..
To make this worse, it was probably senior leadership that asked to see more AI tools to take on workload for efficiency or whatever to justify more market spending on data centres or whatever.
If your boss showed up d--k on single malt whisky, at least I might admire his good taste in liq-or. But ChatGPT or CoPilot or something, in a technical role, no respect at all for that, sorry.
I think this is a major red flag, you need to plan your exit to a better managed company where they still use people to do yearly reviews.
