Retail branch managers in my city are telling us to call clients on the federal do not call list and if a sale happens on the call, we are to log that we didn’t “lead” with the sale. I helped out at one branch recently and there bankers are being told the same as my branch. Previously when I started working here, the manager would tell us that we are to log bad contact information on the lead and leave notes that it is on the do not call list. We are now told that if we don’t call clients on the federal do not call list and if we log bad contact information that we will be in hot water with area manager. We are told this change is coming from our area manager and it’s been going on for a little over a month now. I do believe it’s coming from above my branch manager because I’m seeing it at more than just my location due to helping branches with turnover. Most recently this area manager is “encouraging” the managers get us to do seemingly unscrupulous stuff with opening accounts dda units and shifting dollars to our area. Is they’re funny business coming from way up top being seen everywhere or is it just area leadership in north Florida? Relatively new to this bank and wondering if I should prepare an exit before staying too long.

@OP Maybe if you report it, it will get rid of the sc-m at the top and save jobs at the bottom. This is how you fight back. Put the whole bank under investigation and on the news. Then maybe they'll do better in treating employees and clients right. The last thing they need is bad publicity.
@tf Just the beginning. Seeds were planted with Congress 4 years ago.
This is some WF pre 2016 stuff. Did Truist leadership not learn anything from that? Get ready for an asset cap and and congressional hearings.
This is not only your area! We are also being told the same in Atlanta, Georgia. (Call on this customers clearly marked “do not call.”) And it’s above the Area Leader. In fact, we are seeing a mass exodus, including an Area Leader with Branch Leaders. Senior Leaders are demanding, to nearly shaming, teammates into performing just to get the numbers. And yes these are repeated to Teammates Concerns, but when the very Senior Leaders control exit interviews as well as the further investigations of these, then it’s a larger question of a Truist culture that has gone wrong. We would never had seen this from the BBT days. We have lost the sense of doing what’s right for the our customers, being a bank of integrity and true trusted relationships with upper management. It’s all about NEW money which is not a bad thing but at what costs of doing good business.
Wow! I would report this ASAP. See something - say something. Don't go down with ship.
@jy More than you would want to know.
Honestly. Report it and burn down the c-suite. They are all horrible people.
Annnd that’s why there is a way to report it anonymously… FYI - it would come back to you if they were ever sued over it. You’re breaking the law..
We are told similar, and if ever questioned deny.
As soon as you accept Truist is garbage, the easier it will be.
Report, report, report. If you do not, then you are just as guilty as the people telling you to specifically violate these laws, rules, and regulations and can be held liable just like them.
You can report directly to the CFPB or FDIC if you do not feel confident or comfortable with our internal reporting lines.
You need to report the concern. I recommend doing it anonymously. Also write in way that does not sound like you.
Somebody needs to report this to Teammate Concerns
@OP Are these managers from Wells?
