Low rating - do employee comments matter

I got a low rating. When my manager sends the review to me should I add employee comments? Once entered who reviews them? Thanks in advance!

Of coz it matters. They do view the comments and may place you in next RIF list. Then problem is gone, correct?

Wake up people. Get the F out. Nobody cares and you are considered a thorn if you vent. You are a number not a person!

You are speaking into the void..... Unless it's something they can use against you (your manager).

@OP 30+ years at the company, the answer is - No.

Doubt it. Your manager doesn't think your better than your counterparts. I would just start looking internally and externally.

You have nothing to gain from commenting except venting your frustration. Comments can be used against you.

I entered comments last year when I got a low rating even with a glowing review. I never heard back a single thing about my comments on the review but I at least felt better about expressing my distaste for the rating. I would encourage everyone who got a BS rating to leave comments.
