Thread regarding Blackbaud Inc. layoffs

Will customer support survive?

Does anybody know if the customer support teams will survive these layoffs and if so, which regions are most likely to be safe?

I have heard multiple rumors and it‘s not looking promising. My manager in support keeps telling me everything will be okay, only if I start my shifts early and finish them late, then it will increase my chances of survival.

Is my manager taking advantage of me?

@a7 I’d you don’t have a new job lined up and can’t afford to be unemployed, I do not recommend reporting your manager to HR. You will put a target on your back with HR and even though your employment contract says retaliatory behavior is prohibited and will result in the offending party’s termination, there is still a risk of retaliatory behavior. If I were you, I would focus on finding new employment and take anything optimistic that leadership says about these workforce reductions with a grain of salt.

Remember: They’re going to say what they need to say to keep you around long enough to support the ramp up support operations in India.

Alot of support is likely gone in less than 2 years. The client experience will be terrible for non UK or North America business hours.

Your manager is a a-hole. They are taking advantage of the situation. You could chat with HR, but please consider that HR only exist for one reason - to protect the company.

  1. No, you are all being replaced by Indians. I have heard Q3 and everyone except senior knowledge works will be gone.

  2. Yes. Report them to HR and start looking for new jobs.
