Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

North slope exit

Watch the development funding for kaparuk and alpine get significantly reduced in 2027 as COP moves towards an exit from Alaska. Only selling point will be Willow.

If we were selling Alaska in the near term, why spend so much money on Willow and why is Alaska taking up so much of the exploration spend. It is interesting that so many people speak bad of the AKBU when they clearly don't work in Alaska.

If Hilcorp buys it, they will ring the nonsense expense's from the financial picture - people/programs/etc. The BU (each employee) will be held accountable for financial success - from the top down to the admins! Hilcorp is in it to win it!

If you can fully understand/comprehend your Business Unit's financial position, you have a say in the matter. Otherwise, you are speaking with ignorance. Each BU has to stand on its own for expenses and capital expenditures. Just because you THINK you are making money/value does not mean it does. Press your BU leaders for the data. Ask what your BU has to do to be competitive with COP metrics.
