Let's reduce 401k from 9% to 6% and hide it.

I always wondered about that. When they did away with the pensions they did tout doing a deposit in the 401k. I never found really see that actual amount. I figured at that point it was just a smoke show to save money.
Tough times ahead for us. Seems like there's no plan to stop the bleeding.
Is that what really happened?
