Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Jana Partners is here for a reason!

Don't dismiss why Jana Partners is taking a position.

  1. Speed - let's be honest, Fiserv has become a slow company from a client view.
  2. Growth - you can't cut your way to prosperity, growth requires prioritization, focus and execution. Sadly every thing at Fiserv is a priority therefore nothing is. Best example is Toast - unheard of five years ago, today completely pushed Clover out of restaurants.
  3. Too much expensive management who seems themselves as the center of the universe vs the inverter pyramid where the people who do the work are at the top of the pyramid.
  4. Arrogance - you can't treat investor, clients and employees the way you are and think all will be well.

@e3 easy, he kept strip mining the place every quarter while playing a little fast and lose with some numbers (allegedly) to make the numbers look like they were going up quarter over quarter. That's why he was so hip to get out when he did, he couldn't keep stripping the company much more without it collapsing under him. Then being able to divest relatively tax free was just an added bonus. (Allegedly)

@e3 yep that’s my exact thought too. But First Data and other business units act like plumbing for so many banks and merchants that we probably coasted off fees for years

What made us great was the old days when they focused on first call resolutions. The goal was 70%. My business unit was consistently 85-90%. Now its just make sure the call or case is touched within X. The people answering don’t know anything. 3 days to close is a joke.

@b7
But our support has such great results! Our resolve rates are under 3 days!

How was Frank making money or showing a profit for the company? I don't understand how all of this went under the radar for so long?

@b7 They are actively going backwards. Let's keep outsourcing as fast as we can folks!

Fiserv is rapidly becoming not competitive. Our products are outdated, losing market share and our support is likely the worst in the industry. Likely to be broken up and sold off at minimum
