I feel like I'm wasting away here. No growth, no recognition, no point. Just dragging myself through each day. I'd leave in a second if I had anywhere to go. Truist is making me hate everything.

Most teammates are indeed starting to look elsewhere to work
@tm Go ahead and name her, no one likes “Jenny”.
Feeling the same. I was happy in my job a couple years ago. But then a new exec joined the team - the one whose favorite book is “Who Moved My Cheese?” which is the d-mbest business book ever published - and things have gone downhill since. I used to think she was the cause, but now I am beginning to understand that hiring her was a symptom.
@d8 Not sure why you are getting downvoted, maybe it’s hitting a nerve for some people that do not have skills or talents to take somewhere else.
To the OP, if you’re feeling stuck or unhappy, go explore other opportunities. I left back in September and it’s been a great move for me. Life’s too short to stay somewhere that makes you miserable and I can attest the grass is much greener on the other side.
@d2 Amen sister or brother. I hate SunTruist. Leadership is awful. 100% the worst I've ever seen. But it pays the bills. For me, I just put my head down and focus on doing the best job I can. I don't give more.
@d2 Plenty of jobs out there if you have skills and talent.
Start focusing on other things that make you happy. Working out? A new PR running? Kids? Friends? Truist is just a job and you need a mind shift to just show up and do the job they are paying you for and shut it off when you leave. Nothing more. Think how to move forward everyday positively and that includes eliminating Truist’s effect on you and focusing on things that make you happy. The job market is awful, yes, so temporarily shut the emotion button off at Truist and just do your job (everyone and I mean everyone knows Truist su-ks), while you focus on improving your life with positive ppl, dogs, friends, workouts, maybe a trip somewhere? Etc. Truist should not impact your mental health, stop letting it whether you work there or not. Best wishes to you!!! Also, for those ppl that say go get a new job, stop. The market is awful, be smarter and more respectful bc AI will be taking your job too soon!
Listen to the little voice in your head. It won’t get better until there is major change. I felt the way you describe at Wells 15+ years ago….leaving literally saved my career and quite possibly my life as I knew it. Part of it is Truist (bad leadership), part of it is you (you don’t fit there, clearly), and part of it is the mutual misery. Follow the advice below and start looking. There is a place for you that doesn’t require sacrificing who you are.
Start applying.
I have sent out several to fields I'm not really experienced in but know I can adapt.
The work is fine. The leadership is not. It is rotten, toxic and miserable. But hey, this is what they are going to live with and I have no plans on continuing with company anymore after what just happened to me with a potential opportunity.
It is sad since I like the team and most people I work with.
DO something about it.
Whining and moaning about how your job su-ks isn't going to get you anything new.
Life doesn't just magically hand you a way out, you have to do the footwork and actively seek, in order to find it for yourself.
Do yourself a favor and polish up your resume and find a head hunter, take care of your self first.
