@vm I hate DF with a passion. I hate SommersEve too
Take a look at DF's Town Hall replay from December....what an absolute a--hole, who clearly hates everyone.
Did anyone listen to Christos town hall? That guy is a Neanderthal. Remember when he talked about if you didn’t have any work to do, he would find work for you. Who talks like that in a corporate setting? I was afraid he would find me and tell me to grab a broom to sweep the floors
@jr Amen to that. Heck that caretaker CEO chief counsel Allen Parker was more interesting (and that’s saying something).
Pre-Charlie
Shortly after I joined, Tim Sloan added two personal days to people's bank of time off,and did an RSR grant, both announced as retention measures in town halls. That was the last time I got anything useful from a town hall..
I will say that they are useful to throw on and mute your headphones when you need an hour break and want to appease any desktop monitoring software that might be running in the background
@ep I think you refer to his disdain for “team member”. Poor guy. He probably washes his hands in secret after shaking hands with people.
I don’t know if it was useful but when Charlie claimed referring to employees was cult like it was bizarrely hilarious.
I was surprised when I went to the last town hall and found every seat had a little folded paper bag on the back of it. I asked the guy next to me and he said they were Scharf bags.
What's useful is the time the organizers expend putting them together and inflicting them of others. It is the least damage any of their activities inflict of employees. Every hour they put into curating one, flying to a city to do one, and traveling home from it is an hour they aren't actively making bad decisions or coming up with the next digital activity reporting.
I worked here for about 17 years, so it's been more than 17 years
I get something useful every time. Not from the townhall itself, but using it as cover to go off and blatantly waste time with impunity.
Never.
