Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Talk is cheap

They always want us to be all in, committed, loyal. But when it's convenient for them, we're just numbers on a spreadsheet. Don't preach teamwork and family to me when you treat people like this.

@ey because all the liquid assets are sold and the relative debt is way too high. Revenue continues to decline and interest payments are increasing.

@ey with 23 years service you could get 46 weeks salary, plus 13 weeks at pensionable pay.

Take £30k in cash and put the rest into your pension, they will even add 10% to that too. Then 25% of it is tax free when you withdraw it - bargain.

@e7 I will ask what someone else asked.. can you explain in those 23 years what the stock value was at, was Xerox always paying vendors and was Xerox at this level of debts?

I don't see how the rounds of layoffs we are going though ARE different then the ones in the past even when we bought out other companies and did staff readjustments.

This time just feels totally different in the health of the company.

Not sure where you all are from. But I've been here for 23 yrs and have managed to miss every layoff. I did find my moments of begging for severance ! But one day I was acknowledged for all my hard work. Least expected at such a downing time. But I can say I'm still here and I'm grateful to have a job when jobs are most scarce. Don't be bitter, if you work hard and do well rewards come,in all fashion. Maybe it's not with Xerox but it may be Xerox that gets you your next job!! You will carry the Xerox customer experience with you for life. No matter where u go!

If you guys were asked to get on a life boat, as the ship you are on is sinking fast. You people would open up a discussion, with other people, and never decide anything.
Congratulations on drowning. The fish need to eat too. 🐟

Loyalty to your company ended in the 90s. Used to be if you did a good job you could count on a lifetime career. Company loyalties are now to the c suite and stockholders not the people.

Younger people know this, they stay at a company 3 or 4 years and move on. There is no point staying longer, as your loyalty isn't appreciated.

Who is still believing anything that you are being told? At this point, it's on you to stop being a fool.

@an nobody. We are now in a death spiral. Expenses are rising, debt coming due, revenue declining.

@ak To be fair we all have basically said leadership is lacking so whom is left to rescue the company?

@ac that is because you have nothing to offer any other employer. Good luck.

Let’s see where it gets you. Always good to start over after everything you have given to a company has been depleted, and they have the gaul and audacity to blame the people instead of the leadership.

Wow. Totally brainwashed. Gonna be a company man all the way till they escort you out the door. Such an accomplishment. You guys have no spine. You don’t let people walk all ver you with lies and false hopes. Good Lord

Just be happy to be on the spreadsheet; quarter to quarter.
