Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

North Carolina: CCH and Wellcare merger

Big town hall on the merger today. What is everyone thinking? I've already seen some people have left/been let go. Has anyone seen their org charts yet? Layoffs expected?

@2v5 CCH employees and management was also told they would all have jobs, but that has obviously changed. I'm pretty sure that the people being laid off already know, but none of them know any details, which is pretty shady.

What are people doing on their teams profile pics? Not trying to out anyone of course.

@332 It hasn't been announced publicly, but the people being affected have been verbally notified that they will not be with the company post-merger. I know of one CCH MGMT (director or VP) who immediately quit when he found out

@325 how is anyone supposed to plan when there is no communication? I know someone who is affected and he was told he would receive 30 day notice, but still hasn't received anything-and it's already past the 30 days.

WellCare and CCH will layoff staff by March 31, 2026. The affected employees were only told that they are being laid off, but no exact date is known. It can happen at any time between now and the end of this month. Written communication and severance information have not been received at this time. WellCare HR business partner states that more information will come from leadership shortly.

WellCare used to offer a flexible schedule and told employees that everyone would keep their jobs after the merger. Now that message has changed, and there will be layoffs. They have not shared much information, and it seems like they will wait until the last minute to tell people. Some team members have changed their Teams profile pictures in a way that makes it look like they already know they have a job after the merger. This feels unprofessional and does not match the idea of “OneCenTeam.”

@c2 We never even had an option for 4 days. That's a bummer tho since you did.

@OP They showed the org chart down to the manager level. Said the remainder of staff positions will be revealed in early March. Not mentioned in the town hall but our manager told us the option to work a four day week is ending the week beginning March 30th and everyone will have to work 8am—5pm five days per week.
