Some people have been given early retirement
No hiring the next few days while open jobs are reviewed and many will be canceled. Next week will also have workforce reduction. It’s not speculation, it’s fact
@cv
The core SBG issues are they keep the same in effective mid tier leaders and then layer it with legacy company execs like the whole McAfee crew.
Cisco is like the Titanic heading for the iceberg and the captain and first officer - CR and G2 - saying "that won't sink us, we'll shrink the iceberg instead". Their hubris and sense of personal infallibility rule out any notion that they could be wrong in their strategy.
Clueless id--t that he was, JC at least had the ba--s to acknowledge he sometimes fu---d up and refocus. The egos, BS, hubris and technical illiteracy of CR and G2 rule that possibility out. A case of emperor's new clothes being fed up to them by middle-management telling them what they want hear and the tendency of CR to shoot the message bearer. So they believe every word. What they really need to hear is that the whole of SBG is a fu---d-up mess with zero technical strategy other than throw as much BS as possible at a potential customer and hope something sticks. There are hardly any common threads keeping it together other than words like "architecture" , "API" and "AI" being banded about without context or technical meaning. Customer's eyes glaze over mid-meeting with the 18 technical experts the Cisco account team bring in to cover the jumble of products with three customer representatives present and as soon as Cisco have gone Cisco is finished in security ever again at that customer. I have seen this happen time and again. This is what CR needs to hear.
Real or not, layoffs over time aren't fixing SBG's revenue issues (that actually seem to be getting worse over time). You can't push the bottom line lower than zero. Eventually the top line has to grow or why are you even doing the thing.
inevitable as the AI stuff is low margin other than router and switch infa.
all the “AI” software just is a poor frontend on gpt.
Cisco doesn’t build AI anything
@ac :-))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Can confirm - G6 SWE at RTP.
ELT brought in a crane with a huge wrecking ball. They literally just started demolishing the buildings. As we ran out, HR was at the exits with the separation paperwork. Just an awful way to get notified.
what are the telltales?
