Meet the Pearson boss who punctures CEO bravado

Is this some kind of joke? I've never seen more bravado from a group of leaders and their CEO in my career.

He may have less bravado than Elon, or Jensen, but he has less to no products people care about either.

World gone mad.

Yeah all those editorial / product development folks laid off despite having 20+ years of Pearson work experience - what would they know about anything ?

And the Sales/Marketing long termers let go of - who needs them when the quality products sell themselves.

Onwards & upwards, like the share price !

Ummmmmmmmm ...

@ap I laughed at that too - does this mean our new career architecture allows for hiring and promotions when you know nothing?

The guy can barely make it 5 seconds without his foot in his mouth.

I agree he's a fool and a tool that is insouciant to the needs of the many (and should be replaced immediately), but in any industry the hiring of a CEO does not necessarily mean they are stacked with experience of the very day-to-day of the business they are overseeing. Pearson has been in an improvident, avaricious phthisis for quite some time now.

@OP
"Two years ago, I didn’t know anything about education..."

Sounds like he was the perfect candidate for CEO of Pearson then ...
