Thread regarding Texas Instruments Inc. layoffs

No raise ?

I didn’t get a raise and have heard of a number of people who are in the same boat. What’s going on? Does TI want us to leave because we are pi---d ? This is a slap on the face, I worked really hard last year

Idea is to get US employees to leave and grow TI bangalore. And to pivot to a foundry model. TI's products will be designed predominantly in India or China and the foundry will operate in the US to take advantage of the chips act. TI will continue to buy companies to populate its fabs and the usual cost optimization steps will ensue. Good stock to own, will just su-k for US/EU employees.

Yes, same experience. 0% raise. In their view we are not talent worth investing in. It is su-ks.

Worked here 7 years. This company ki-led my dream.

Every year, by definition bottom 10% get no raises. Also, some orgs may get dinged based on the team/product/factory performance. There were years when the whole company got all 0 raises.
That is corporate life. Not a peanut butter spread or guaranteed raises every year for everyone. If I am a hard worker and a major contributor, I would want it that way

Did over 35 years there......3 times raises were "donut". It su-ks...I know. What is odd this time is that unlike from my experience the company was not running a balance sheet in the red.
