Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

I broke the news to my own boss I was laid off

Just in case anyone is wondering how organized this project is. But not to fear -- the packet confidently tells me I can ask my boss about any questions I have. I have every confidence she will be a great resource to me.

I wonder what they called it -- something joyful and upbeat no doubt -- Project Sunshine, perhaps?

@a9 Your ex-boss sounds like a schmuck. What an a--hole, with no empathy. Sounds like he placed his hands on the scale to get you fired. I was fired and they kept contractors. I could have single-handedly done the job of both contractors without breaking a sweat. I know my boss put hands on the scale to get me fired. My previous boss left Walgreens for another opportunity a couple weeks ago, so my new boss and I never really bonded.

An earlier post stated the Orlando support center (Centralized Services?) is being impacted. Is this true? Are layoffs happening in Orlando as well?

My role elimination meeting took place yesterday morning and was conducted by the Sr. Dir (my manager's manager) of the org. My actual manager found out yesterday from other team members within the org and has yet to reach out to me. My manager was a terrible manager and should not have direct reports. The company missed a serious opportunity by not laying off my manager too.
