@ca my HCS was pregnant and was going on leave the same day she was laid off. They didn't care. They continued with firing her. She was literally having the baby within days. They don't care. Walgreens is ruthless. You shouldn't need more proof of how low this company has fallen, but if you did, this should chill you to the bones

How many people are being asked to work until April? Seems unfair some people get 2 free months to start looking for a new job immediately, but some people have to not only keep working full time, but performing well or risk losing severance.

@an that’s only true if you accept another role within Walgreens. If you accept something externally, you still get severance

@a5 be careful. if you accept another role before 4/17 you forfeit your severance package.

Hi everyone, I'm Ike Swetlitz, a health journalist with Bloomberg News. I write stories about big pharmacies and health insurance companies (and other topics). I'm working on a story about these layoffs and trying to learn more. If you'd like to speak with me, you can reach me at 630-544-9414 (cell phone) or iswetlitz@bloomberg.net -- I will NOT use your name in the story.

I've written several other stories about Walgreens recently, including about the decision to cut paid holidays for certain store workers, as well as adding e-cigarettes into the stores.

I hope it's ok to post this here, and please feel free to delete if it's it's not.

@a6

Had Unlimited (AKA No) PTO for many years. All my frozen PTO was/will be paid out

@a5 what PTO plan where you on ?

by

Post ID: @a6+1kh41cgve

23 Years, Senior Manager, 2 Months pay in lieu of WARN Act, plus 32 weeks of pay, plus PTO pay out gives me just over a year of full pay

I was expecting to be laid off and just accepted another role at another company so thank you Walgreens for the wonderful parting gift.
