State Farm will be reducing auto policies and sending insureds to Haggerty Insurance to write autos. Premiums will double and all claims will be handled by Hagerty while SF gets kickbacks from Hagerty. All of this while reducing personnel in claims. IMO another bizarre form of RICO. They really don't want to be #1 anymore.

@t8 Hey premium boy! So you collect money from a policy that is not serviced by State Farm and State Farm collects money as well on a policy they don't service? Then, they double the premium and put a firearm to the PH head and say you cannot insure through anyone else because if you do, you lose your multiline discount? Wow! If that is monopolistic, red lining, sc rew the customer, etc..... I don't know what is! If you don't have the knowledge, learn it! Another fine example of corporate laziness and entitlement IMO.
Retired agent. The Hagerty thing is one of the things that actually DOES make sense. State Farm’ antique/classic policy has not been what classic car owners want….not for quite some time now. The cost of gearing up in yet another area where we don’t have the people or expertise would be ridiculous.
Outrage because my premium for that vehicle doubled and if I got coverage from another carrier it would wipe out my multi vehicle discount and homeowner's discount. Cost doubles without a claim etc. It would pizz anyone off. Racketeering!
@ng Because some people are only happy when they are outraged......
@ng premiums doubled.
I worked on project for years and not a box checker. It’s only antique/classic cars. Why the outrage?
@k0 Very true but what it doesn't tell you is Hagerty will be doing all the processing and handling of any and all claims reducing the need for in house adjusters and staff.
Yes, State Farm insures classic and antique cars through their State Farm Classic+ policy, which is offered in collaboration with Hagerty. This coverage is designed for collector vehicles 10 years or older (or replicas) that are used for limited, hobbyist purposes—such as club events, exhibitions, or pleasure driving—rather than daily commuting.
Key Details About State Farm Classic Car Insurance:
Agreed Value Coverage: Policies are written based on an agreed-upon value for the car, protecting its full value in a total loss.
Eligibility Requirements: Vehicles must be in good or better condition (or under active restoration), stored in an enclosed building, and not used as a primary vehicle.
Usage Limits: The insurance is for hobbyist use, including car shows, parades, and pleasure driving.
Specialized Coverage: Policies often include perks for collectors, such as higher coverage limits for spare parts.
Partnership with Hagerty: State Farm Classic+ is serviced through a partnership with Hagerty, a major insurer of collector vehicles.
It is recommended to contact a local State Farm agent to confirm eligibility and get a quote based on your specific vehicle.
Call an agent and ask about what State Farm is doing with Hagerty. Learn before you state down talking. Typical young indoctrinated box checkers.
The OP is delusional.
True with all classic auto policies.
