Merit this year

So, now that reviews should start coming back, what low % are we looking at this year for ‘above meets’ or whatever label they’re using now? I’m considering posting out to a lower level position. My thinking is if they can’t pay me for the additional workload I e taken on I might as well just work a lower level position that actually reflects my salary and make life a bit easier on myself. Anyone else thinking the same?

The merit increases were very low. Almost no one i know got a above 'meets'. The AIP payout is still in discussions with the board, which means its likely not going to be that great. We will know more about that very shortly.

Regarding merit…are the lower AIP this year or next? Thank goodness executives keep theirs at 20% but asking for the rest of us peasants so I can prepare for disappointment next month or next year. And thank you CF for another pathetic raise that doesn’t even cover the cost of inflation of groceries . I will be one of the quiet quitters that has been highly discussed across corporate jobs the past couple of years. And I’m sure my raise next year won’t even change

@a2 HR team is worthless. New sales division leadership has no experience and worthless and cannnot make a decision to save their lives. Alarming as to where we are headed.

Stop going above and beyond. It gets you nothing. Do your work, go home at a decent hour. Also, leave the company. Plan to change companies every 2-5 years. Your salary will go up and you'll be happier. Never be loyal to the company because they're not loyal to you. Interview constantly. As soon as you get a new job, start interviewing for the next one.

I posted for a couple lower positions and got rejected. I had the same train of thought.

@OP Take a lower position and then train the failed-BCBSNC buddy they bring in at the higher position. Not thinking that is a path towards happiness.

If you do that, you will not be hired for the lower position. You can stay in your current position, or you can quit. Many before you have tried to post for lower positions before their jobs were eliminated only to be shown the door. CareFirst is primarily looking to reduce headcount.

I’ve been contemplating the same. The issue is with so much turnover I have no idea what the other areas are like in comparison. I know my area has become a nightmare but it’s most likely awful everywhere except maybe HR
