Thread regarding Open Text Corp. layoffs

Is the current low growth just a temporary result of selling off assets, or is this the new normal for OpenText?

Will Ayman have a plan to switch the company from cost-cutting back to growing revenue? Are customers actually paying extra for the new AI features, or are they just free add-ons to keep people from leaving?

I don’t see a way to break out of our current low-growth holding pattern. Thus the only future is for all divisions to eventually be acquired. Does anyone else see it differently?

From a sellers perspective it's very hard to sell our modern platforms, AI included. Obviously, bolting AI tools onto existing repos and making them intelligent would be a huge win for sales and for customers using their content. However, we're obsessed with legacy revenue streams and maintenance. Renewals has been selling deprecated products for years and trapping customers in contracting language, the unbundling/repricing when the customer asks "what is this," "I heard this was EOL for awhile". We're shady - and on top of that in 2026 any customer that signs a contract saying we can increase cost 5-10% annually is an id--t. Look at the legacy DCTM customers...... 10-15-20 years with the tools, buying components that don't exist with ballooning costs? Good luck unwinding that to get to AI talks. It's really frustrating trying to sell net new software and being cucked by the company at every step of the way.

@an Paul is by far the best executive at OpenText. He was held back by Mark, even though he got promoted. Hopefully Ayman will leverage his expertise.

Our sales pipeline in SFDC would make Autonomy wince.

Half fantasy, half desperation.
