Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

Honest answers only.

For those who were laid off — especially in Medicare/Medicaid Member Services (Community & State):

Looking back now, what were the real signs you were about to be laid off?

Not rumors. Not assumptions.
Actual changes you noticed in hindsight — workload shifts, meetings, metrics, access changes, team restructuring, communication patterns, etc.

I’m not asking to stir fear or spread speculation. I’m asking so those of us still here can be informed, prepared, and realistic.

If you’re willing to share, I’d appreciate it. Facts matter.

My team was trying to post out to other depts to avoid being laid off but learned we were being blocked from doing so. They denied we were being blocked but it was a blatant lie. Horrible people but what goes around comes around.

The hired and introduced use to several new teammates in Hyderabad, India. Only instead of it being just the six, it was 45 people hired. They replaced twenty of us.

Read between the lines: verbiage in internal communications are key. If they say things like “no change at this time” it usually means change is coming but they can’t tell you yet. If they say they need to “cut internal costs” that equals jobs. Both of those comments have been stated in UHC internal communications in the last week. Layoffs are coming.
