How does it go down at this company? Who tells you are being let go? Do you get a random call or is a meeting scheduled? What is typical package? How quickly are you asked to leave the office? Suggestions on how to respond when it happens?

A 15 minute meeting is randomly scheduled and when you join there are 2 on the call - your boss (or your bosses boss if your boss gets kicked to the curb also) and someone from HR. Your emotionless manager reads a pre-written script that says we are sorry to let you know that your job has been eliminated and today is your last day, then kicks it over to HR for them to ramble about severance details, cobra, etc. It's usually 10 minutes from start to finish. They give you the day to wrap it up and say your goodbyes, then later in the day your ID has been disabled and it's done. Cold and heartless - the Teradata way!
You get a random meeting invite from your manager, a one-to-one. But when you connect to the meeting, a third unexpected person joins, and it's usually someone from HR. And then they ask you to leave. Same MO for all laid off employees I've been talking to.
Usually a quick meeting invite from your manager. On the call is some goon from HR based in india who can't speak much English, but is there to be part of the process. Have fun with the goon. Watch them get rattled when you ask them a question. They arent used to dealing with smart people so it's always fun to watch it go down
You get a meeting notice for 15 minutes and you may or may not see an HR person invited. If you weren’t expecting a meeting with your manager, find a cardboard box.
You will generally get a meeting invite from your manager a day before the layoff.
