Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

WHQ layoffs?

I have been around Nike for a bit and it seems when leadership all disappear layoffs happen. I noticed this happened this last few weeks in NXT anyone notice the same thing happening?

Layoffs won’t until April if they do. Same as last time.

@xk all rumors on this website point to a layoff wave or a 5 day rto one month from posting, no matter what month it is

Even if layoffs are announced on Friday, all rumors point to March for execution.

I think the recent equality lawsuit sc--wed up their layoff plans. Had to go back to the very beginning and rewrite the gallows list.

@xb Possible? Yes. Likely? No

@x6 Disagree. Do you seriously think that no layoffs is an option?

@x9 it's this Friday or nothing. They are making changes too quickly to drag it out a month+ imho

Layoffs will be announced either this Friday or at the earnings call.

Definitely at least a reorg coming to DAI and GaME. Various things being renamed this week. Looks like they are at least kicking the ball around on who owns what.

More details on Friday (the 13th). Do you think that they are tone deaf enough to do the funniest/saddest thing possible and confirm an RIF then?

It feels like layoffs are coming soon to GT in WHQ. Spreadsheets are being created with engineer names and what they are working on. They should just ask managers to stack rank their teams.

@bj bro, Nike has a low talent density in general. Engineering titles were hand off to all sorts of hires with zero talent. The old timers, the etw to fte hires, the general hires su-k a-s. The old timers have no real skills left if they had any, the conversions were never good to begin with, and those people hired everyone else. The blind leading the blind.

I wonder if those who were hired to meet DEI targets so their own VP can max their compensation are aware of that fact? Or do they sit in these roles completely unaware?

All the DEI hires are being fired. Everyone knew they were dead weight and now they serve zero exhibitional value - only OECC liability.

Your senior leadership does anything? Mine took a 4 month vacation immediately after being assigned to our team.

The tariffs need to be paid for somehow. Higher prices and cost cuts is how.

In my org there has been a reluctance to make needed org changes, move people around and fill open roles internally. That might imply a bigger plan is in the works.

Maybe they’re discussing where to hold their next offsite, and then during the offsite they will discuss layoffs.

To be honest, NXT is way too bloated.

Well it’s winter and layoffs seem to take place in April/May before fiscal year end.
