I took the early retirement in 2020. Whenever the voice of the workforce came up (for years) prior to me leaving, I used any of the questions with expandable boxes to post my concerns about the direction the company was going. Anyone with any sense could see the company was declining due to basically meaningless innovation. Any really cool innovations were shelved and the intellectual property sold off. I harped about it all the time.

Yes! Best to lie and let HR go after the agitators.

Are you asking whether your name appears in the survey? There’s no proof they would or would not see your name. Supposedly it’s anonymous where your direct manager can’t see your name but I think they or their manager can see your feedback. So if you’re on a very tiny team or a team full of CWs and you’re not a CW, it might be easier for your manager to identify you with your feedback.

Rule of thumb: Don’t assume it is anonymous simply because nowhere in the employee handbook or your offer letter suggests that anonymity is guaranteed for such matters.

If you’re trying to say something that could have legal repercussions, you should consult a lawyer before you say anything to the company.

They do. The question is if they really take action or care about it. Most of questions are related to direct management, not corporate or executive suite. My boss told us to use any space where comments can be added and leave any feedback we want in those spaces - even if there are no questions related to the topic. Additionally, highlighting if this is to direct managers or higher in the chain (corporate). Just be creative, it's the chance to put all that we think and pass it up.
