We have key positions that need to be backfilled that have been open for over a year now. Are we not hiring at all or is this just our manager not giving a damn to fight for it?

@j7 there are hirings in Israel, Poland, India.. keep seeing new names. At same time they fire old employees.
Dell is absolutely hiring... as long as you aren't located in the USA! Mexico and India have loads of open positions, though!
It's ghost-jobs.
EMEA here.
Not a single position open in ISG in the last 3 years I’d say
looks up Java on the career site and look where the positions are located. Indonesia and India. That's the I in AI
@en exactly, our hiring ONLY happens outside the US… that’s why I was jokingly asking about those open roles in the US. They had to be approved at some point for them to be open…
hiring happens outside of us.
Wait, you guys are getting US reqs approved?
Not hiring in the U.S. is intentional. I've applied for several vacant internal positions only to immediately receive an automated email with words to the affect that I won't be considered or even get aninterview. I'll admit to being slightly under qualified for some of them, but I was already doing one of the jobs I applied for. IMHO they purposfully leave positions vacant for some time, then claim there's no qualified American workers so they can justify bringing in h1bs or outsourcing the jobs to cheaper workers outside the U.S.
@av Bingo.
@ar Or are just AI (Actual Indians)
@ab 9k of which are interns or HB1s
We've hired over 10k+ ppl over the past two years
AI is going to do all the work!!!! LMAO!!!!!
The current situation with Dell and all of the layoffs will stop any Manager for fighting for anything. They are fighting for their positions at Dell. They aren't robots. They are trying to save their source of income.
