Listening to HR discuss how to move up in your career is such a joke. The company is reducing expense everywhere they can, eliminating positions, and have completely shut off the promotion pool as part of the yearly promo / merit changes. If you want to move up, you have a better chance leaving the company and then applying to a higher position somewhere else in the company (as long as you have 18 months to ki-l).

If you want to move up you need to use Pluralsight and LinkedIn Learning.
I thought that HR/TPO had all been laid off (which can't be true, even for FIS). Where did you learn/read about the elimination of the promotion pool? When did this call occur? The laughing? Answer as best you can.
@OP why even bother attending these calls?
nothing said will be true - there is always some hidden angle that is bad for the employees
Couldn’t be more tone deaf to what is going on … the laughing makes it even worse
