This has striking similarities with the following movie....
Madagascar - 2005 (movie)
Setting: The penguins stand on a pristine beach, watching the damaged lifeboat—with Alex, Marty, Gloria, and Melman aboard—putter away from the shore.
Private: (Waving sadly) Bye-bye, Mr. Alex...
Kowalski: (Leaning toward Skipper, lowering his voice) Sir. A tactical observation. The vessel’s fuel tank was breached during our escape. It’s currently registering empty. Probability of reaching the mainland: zero.
Skipper: (Doesn’t take his eyes off the departing boat, keeps a rigid, cheerful smile on his face)
Kowalski: Should we… inform them of the critical fuel shortage?
Skipper: (Without moving his smile) Negative, Kowalski. That’s a need-to-know basis, and they don’t need to know.
Kowalski: But, sir, they’ll be adrift...
Skipper: It’s a controlled adrift. A strategic repositioning. Now, look sharp and sell it. Big waves. Bigger smiles.
Skipper begins waving with exaggerated, mechanical enthusiasm.
Kowalski: (Offers a stiff, slightly pained wave) Wave and smile. Roger that.
Skipper: That’s the spirit. Operation "Beach Vacation" is officially a go. They’ll thank us later. Probably.
