Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Micro management increasing

Not sure if it is just my team/ leader or it is coming down on all other teams / Fidelity as a whole but there is an obvious added micromanagement since the start of the year. Whoever is dictating this will be looking at higher turnover ratios before the end of the year as the associates are humans not machines. Nothing enjoyable or rewarding about working here at this point. Sad to see this happening at what has been a great company to work for until recently.

Agree, the workload is outstripping the compensation to the point where it doesn't matter what the compensation is, the added requirements & pressures are just not worth it.
I have noticed an increase in the micro managing as well so I assume it is coming from higher up. Executive management only sees the numbers & the thought is if everyone did just a little more the numbers would increase by X- the issue arises when over the years a little more & a little more has ultimately added up to a lot more than the workers can handle comfortably. Did you say comfortably? We don't want our workers to be comfortable they should pouring every ounce of blood, sweat & tears out so we can get bigger bonuses.
