And noncore areas that are not aligned to growth, including legacy areas are being significantly reduced and/or eliminated and that includes areas such as business wireline, nondirectional products, technology as well, wholesale, legacy copper and voice platforms and even projects with too long of a payback. So the team has done a great job in finding unit cost efficiency as we build both in wireless and in fiber, cost for prem pass, et cetera. So there's a lot of good work being there, and that helps us get to a lower CapEx envelope, but we're very focused on being very efficient with our capital deployment this year

@aw non directional products are this without direction...or put it simpler any product under any Team without direction...which...you know...every group....Dan is the new helm operator but the rudder is still rot....
Every Sales Rep or Engineer in VZB has known for a long time what products are not aligned and due for sunset and teams over the years have already been cut and reorganized to where support within the same team is the newer fiber and voice along with the copper that’s on the way out. It’s much harder than you think to get some of the larger organizations to upgrade or switch. Only way the company can do it usually is by advance notice the price will skyrocket. Anyway my point is the company will save a lot of money no longer having many of these older products around but it won’t result in mass layoffs since this already has been done over years and years of reorganization.
What are nondirectional products? It's exciting to hear someone speak to actual change vs buzzwords and word salad.
He's basically cleaning up the cr-p that Hans and Lowell never addressed.
@a1 not OP but yes, however only parts of VZB. VZB has the 1f which VZW uses. I would wager he means older legacy systems on legacy networks. IE. BEAS boxes, SMB telephony, DSx circuits.. large scale telemetry and transmission equipment still maintains the core network so VZB isn’t going anywhere. But the core network/ edge will be the focus not any of this old business garbage.
@OP is this referring to Verizon Business
