Nothing in that Reddit thread that we don’t already know. OP doesn’t work at Cigna - just relaying what they heard from others, and there are very few replies from actual Cigna employees. But it feels good to see others empathizing, even if they’re not personally involved.

Here is a short summary of the comments:

People are pi---d about the allegedly cold, scripted layoff process and the idea that AI is now firing humans at a healthcare company of all places. Some say AI is the real culprit, others say it’s just the latest excuse for corporate greed.

One laid-off employee chimed in to say he was notified by his direct supervisor,, no AI involved, though he believes his role will probably be replaced by AI soon.
