I don't know why anyone would think that this company is interested in our opinion and our feedback. Surveys are a big waste of time. They are waste because they do not bring any change. At least I don't remember that they ever produced any changes for the better here. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Tell leadership how you really feel... please share all! Then we will watch you disappear from Seagate.
New McKinsey & Company research discovered that 55 percent of 1,100 companies surveyed globally have found it challenging to hire key data and tech roles, such as data and software engineers, data architects, machine learning engineers, and data scientists. And a majority said it’s only getting harder, despite offering even more attractive compensation packages and flexible work models.
So, the real question for CEOs shouldn't be how to cut tech costs, but how to retain and excite their best tech talent. Or, put simply: How do you make them happy?
if one has options, reconsider this industry bc the consolidation years left the best talent at two domestic players. Its aged to an amalgam of talented, helpful people mixed with entrenched curmudgeons. We know data storage has a future, but this industry is entering a new phase of restructuring to adapt to that future. Hold on for 2023.
With the economy ready to go into recession, don't just leave but have a plan. Please note many of the companies you may want to find a job at have similar problems.
Most companies especially manufacturing are not doing well in these many quarters, Seagate especially. BUT look ahead, think ahead if you wanna stay or leave. If I am still young I would definitely go to other sectors that promising. Wasted almost 3 decades here, that's life
Ya'll must have sh---y bosses at stx...im pretty lucky. Whine harder im sure it will help...
I would be honest, because I know in at least one case poor survey results got shared with the BoD and reflects on the executive team. There is relatively little attrition at HDD companies because there are only two in the US and mobility is poor so the only tool you have for change is to be honest if you believe you have cr---y leadership. Your boss has better things to do than to try and break the confidentiality of an anonymous survey and retaliate. In fact, if you can prove retaliation that is one thing HR is good about prosecuting. As a manager, I know that first hand.
You are an employee. Resistance is futile. You will either be assimilated or RIF'd. You have 30 seconds to comply.
Go ahead, as others have suggested, criticize management at the Director layer and up. Think it's gonna help? They know who you are. If you are right and they are wrong on a particular issue(s), and you are vocal about it? Start packing you personnel belongings, it's just up to one Director above you to have his feelings hurt and out you go! Blame it on "headcount". You see, they use "headcount" as a way to control people in departments and divisions.
Employment at will - always the go to! What a scam perpetrated on the American worker.
surveys rarely bring about meaningful change bc executives and leadership do not want to be responsible or held accountable for changing a system tailored to their benefit
Be honest with the survey.Let them know what you think. They can't fire you for it.Supposedly it's "anonymous " anyways.
The change is berating everyone and punishing people who are negative in order to show the scores trending higher after people are driven to score everything top notch just to avoid trouble. If it gets the scores higher no questions are asked on how it was done or what changes made a difference.
