Why is everyone not posting what area/department they are in? Why would you owe this company any discretion whatsoever? They don’t/have never cared for their employees. I can’t speak for everyone but at my location Every year it’s something new to stress about.. lay offs, VTO, forced retirement, new laws passing or not passing, no overtime for months at a time, can’t use your PTO for months at a time. They never let us get caught up when we are behind. They will use overtime one week then the next be using VTO and sending people home. They’re laying 2,000 of us off but still actively having job interviews and hiring people? I’d say it’s not a loss at all to be laid off from this place. I’d wait, get laid off, take my severance, then get a better job. If they had any brains at all they would get rid of all their people in charge that are making millions bc they clearly don’t know what the he-l they’re doing. My thoughts go out to all those already laid off and future people. I say get out and day as much info to us as possible. You don’t owe this place anything.

Yeah I never got why people were all hush hush.. theres literally no way for them to track you when you say what area you work in especially during mass layoffs.
Saying what role you had before being laid off isn’t a 'trade secret', it’s résumé 101. Besides, if someone can post about their layoff to their entire LinkedIn network, I see no harm in mentioning here that the same role got cut.
The NLRB already ruled companies can’t silence employees with severance NDAs, and discussing working conditions is protected under the NLRA.
So why would Legal bother tracking posts when they can’t legally fire anyone or strip severance over this?
That said, it’s still smart to keep things a bit vague (region + role should be enough if multiple people were impacted), as they could always find some other lame way to make your life difficult. Also, don’t post from corporate devices and consider using a VPN.
@c7 I agree, some real stupidity here. Also some teams are very small so it will be obvious who to track down.
@b7 are you really so naive? “it’s an anonymous site… posting your region and or just a job title would not really let them know who you are. ” if you are the only senior manager got laid off in your region, you think you can still hide from HR?
@bw I didn’t so no one… I said ceos… you think people making millions are on here reading how we feel? No. look at you… you’re here saying everyone is nosy but you obviously had to open your phone, get on google, and type in something referring to Cigna layoff… so you were what? Being what now? Nosy. lol it’s okay to be curious about what’s happening at a job and to post how you feel or to ask for info. If you dnt like it that’s fine but you are literally on here right now doing the same exact thing lol soooooooooooooo?
@bj you are acting like they are selling some top secret information lol it’s literally just saying what department they worked in lol being “nosy” is someone who snoops into stuff for no reason whatsoever. Asking what’s going on at your job, that you work for, that supplies you with an earning so you can afford to live, is not being “nosy”. If you don’t care then why are you on this platform looking? That’s called being nosy.
@b7 you are 100% wrong to think no one is reading these threads. It is a violation of employment and severance to disparage the company. HR and legal are all over online posts and if they can determine the source they WILL take action. I have colleagues who were threatened and written up. Why risk it, what does it help?
@bc Yeah you're being nosy. "Let me give information away that could lead to Cigna double-sc--wing me just so some rando online satisfies his curiosity!" People lost their jobs and if they don't want to risk losing severance, then don't try to talk them into it.
@bb this should not be downvoted but upvoted.
those of you laid off owe no information to nosy people. Some of them may have even thrown you under the bus at some point. If anything just stick together and unite if you were laid off.
@bb me nosy? But you’re on here reading everything and commenting yourself? Hmmmmmmmmmm lol seems like you were obviously searching for info as well. And yes, as an employee I am curious as to what goes on at the company I work for. Shocker!
@b7 The more specifics to spill, the less anonymous you are. Those getting laid off don't owe your curiosity any thing. What are you going to do with the info besides satisfy your nosiness?
@b6 it’s an anonymous site… posting your region and or just a job title would not really let them know who you are. I also highly doubt any ceo or higher up Cigna employee is actively on here reading ever comment. They could care less. People are just wanting to get a general outlook as to who is being fired and what positions.
I am guessing if they're too specific, they are afraid they'll violate their severance agreement. Letting the masses know you got canned probably isn't worth it for them.
