This site is supposed to be updates, gossip, word on the street etc etc and the latest post was weeks ago. Either no railroader is posting or their being deleted. Anyone being laid off? Hard to believe that’s not the case. How about critical rules? People quit getting wrote up or what? Come on we need some creditable gossip on here!!!!!!

The director at DeSoto is a lazy but evil person. All he does it sit in his office, watch cameras, and sit by his phone and email to answer Omaha’s questions and relays their orders to his management. That is it. He does not actively get involved in the day to day operations of DeSoto. He doesn’t even lead employee meetings, just stands in the back of the room rubbing his chin while his senior managers have to present the meetings. He fires people for no reason in record numbers and the people quitting are outnumbering the people retiring 4-1. He also doesn’t spend any money on the facility and any major equipment breakdowns are just left to sit and no longer used or repaired. The place is literally one major breakdown away of being closed permanently.

Well, the last director laid down the law and cracked the whip and got cars out the door. I do know that, he tore down most shanties and made the guys walk a tight rope, sounds like the new guy better get his act together before the shop gets closed or people start getting furloughed
I hear DeSoto shop is on the chopping block, their car counts are lower than ever since the new shop director took over, they say he is soft as a pillow and let those guys sit in their shanty’s half the shift and sleep all night on 2nd shift but that’s just the rumors
