Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Emotionally attached to this company

I am looking for a new job and sending applications because I'm aware that Intel is in a downward spiral from which it may not come out. However, it is hard for me now to imagine that after spending so many years here, I go to work for one of the competitors.
I put in too much effort and really loved my job here, and maybe that's why I'm frustrated by the bad leadership decisions that have brought Intel down. I think that many are still emotionally attached to this place...

I think you mean, "couldn't care less". If you say, Intel could 'care less', that means that they have some level of care.

Keep in mind that Intel could care less about you and your life. Keep that in mind when getting emotional about them.

I am just so sick of the incessant whining by such entitled clowns. What kind of sickness does one have to have to actively root for your company to fail?

Pat, BoD, and senior executives don’t care one bit about you. It’s about saving their sad a$$.

Do what is best for yourself. For some it will be obvious to milk their cushy senior high paying position as long as they can on the Titanic as they will be undesirable and not hirable anywhere else.

If you are young, ambitious or have talent this is the last place you should hitch your career to.

Doesn’t matter whether you are generic corporate like HR, Legal, Finance or core technology like Design or Silicon manufacturing the opportunities are far brighter at so many other companies.

Intel’s time came and went. They missed the pivot point about a decade ago for another couple decades of greatness. They then squandered a half decade doing nothing under ineptitude BoD and senior executives.

They are. now in downward spiral of unstoppable denial and soon to be dispair.

If you click on Latest Posts in the upper left hand corner of this site and read through a few of them you'll see a common theme, employee sentiment is the same regardless of the company and that is that management has let them down.

You could leave Intel for another company but the grass might not be greener there.

Is the question how to become emotionally unattached? First step is to acknowledge that your emotions may be getting the best of you. Is the problem emotions, or is it golden handcuffs given you may be getting paid more then you are worth on the open market? Best to be intellectually honest with yourself. From there, you just have to weigh the PRO / CON of staying vs. the likelihood Intel pulls out of the death spiral. GL
