Thread regarding Blackbaud Inc. layoffs

Removing “Volunteer for Vacation”

Now if you volunteer, they’ll donate. “It was the right thing at the time to have that” speaking about Vol for Vaca.

FYI It's because they can't run the program in India.

It's a tax write off for them. Your vacation days are not.

@ec Yes, as of yesterday "market research" (not kidding) has informed them that employees would rather donate the extra time off they would have received volunteering into cash that would be used to donate to the charity of your choice. Essentially they are trying to make BB a place you (read: U.S workers) don't want to work.

Next up, "market research" Has shown-

  • that employees really only need and want 1-2 weeks of PTO.
  • that BB pays to much for US health insurance per employee and will shift costs back to the employee next negotiation.
  • the 401K company contribution is out-of-step with the market and will be restructured to a lower match to salary target.

I've left Blackbaud. Can someone fill me in - They eliminated Volunteer for vacation? I loved those 3 bonus holidays!

From the cadence of the emojis it definitely appeared to be a single person. I'm guessing they had someone in HR doing it. Even while telling you that you're losing your job they have to keep up their fake perfect facade.

The shocked emoji. Did Mike really not think the emojis were meant negatively?

Certainly feels like the ELT is having their “let them eat cake” moment. Nothing will happen except good people lose their jobs and the ELT will get richer even will the stock drops 30% YoY. Fully focused on getting out of here, but this job market is BRUTAL. Good luck to you all, except the ELT. They don’t need anymore luck.

lol, the slide said something like “market data indicates this is no longer best practice” or whatever. I swear they make this stuff up. My spouses company and my close friends companies all still have some kind of get PTO for volunteer/community participation.

This place sure feels like they are speed running into trying to make US people leave. The irony of donating money to an employment non-profit while making us work under a two year RIF notification is just plain evil. What next? Schedule a meeting so an ELT member can swing by your house and kick your dog.
