Thread regarding National Oilwell Varco Inc. layoffs

Unhealthy meeting culture

Meetings that lack clear purpose, and there are a lot of them, distract me from work. I'm constantly overbooked and I'm tired of it. Also, it seems to me that the frequency of meetings has significantly increased. What is the reason why we have so many meetings? I think that cancelling half of them would help many of us make the best use of our time.

Come and work in Montrose, plenty of meetings in some departments where its , sh!t slinging galore and "ain't I clever? , he's useless " bull****" Time spent basically self promoting, which could be better spent doing real work

Just stop showing up. I had teams meetings booked all hours of the work day for all week long. I stopped going to some that I felt were useless. No one had asked me why. People just assume you were too busy to attend.
