Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Forced ranking

How do they plan to control for managers that survive on looking busy rather than been productive and will use the forced ranking to get rid of top performers who naturally tend to eliminate busy work within their teams and also control for managers that will play favoritism with their buddies that they don’t see as competition.

@dg
SB's reputation precedes her where ever she goes.
It is interesting how a person who is constantly described as "toxic" by those that know her, can be so successful in getting promoted.

I heard that there will not be anymore EOI but forced ranking to get rid of more people with only 3 months severance package.

Forced ranking is 5% forced attrition yearly. Starts in 2027 with PIP from 2026 rankings

Missed the part where managers who want out just seat warm for years until their trough is filled to the brim so they can leave fully cashed up. In the meantime, lots of meetings, PowerPoints about meetings, contemplating meetings and generally adding zero value.

My manager, SB, down ranked everyone in 2018 and then claimed because of her leadership the following year, everyone improved. Some of us with over 20 years were given our first 2-. She teamed up with another manager to do this across two teams. She survived the layoffs and got a promotion. Meanwhile, the BU is working to undo all of her work. Utter failure of a nepo-employee that only succeeded at planning cupcake parties.

usually competition between companies would cause these corrupt companies to go out of business

but sadly we do not have that nowadays

we have monopolies, gov bailouts, and connections to powerful financial firms
