Wow. Earnings call scheduled for Feb 10.
Expect a wave between now and then? Or are they cooking this up for later in Q1 such as March?
The word on the grapevine is that we’re looking to scrap what’s left of engineering and product teams entirely in the UK later this year alongside broader general reductions in headcount in the US. We eliminated certain individuals last year, particularly anyone in a senior position openly displaying signs of resistance against the ongoing offshoring or otherwise seen to be “difficult”. Reduces the risk of people unionizing or mustering into a group whilst the plan is carried out.
Marketing and customer-facing functions are likely safe for now, as long as that product area is seen as profitable.
Basically if you’re feeling under-resourced and your area isn’t actively doing anything about that, that’s your answer right there. Get your resume updated.
