Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Time to plan an exit

I like my actual work, but the company's direction is undeniably bad. I think it's time to accept that Target is failing and seriously start looking for a new job before it's too late.

Every corporation is the same. Only the name outside is different.

@bt do you have to be a certain level or above for a mutual separation agreement? I’m guessing Director level or higher?

@gr I agree - I think times have changed and its time to move on. Make your plans and get moving cause its a new leader with the same antics and I can't see things getting better

A lot of layoffs in the market, especially local to Minneapolis. Have a plan before you go, the competition right now is fierce.

The bonus will be peanuts.

Those bonuses are not going to be much to wait for unfortunately for the HQ and supply chain at least, but if RSUs vest at same time at least it’s a bit.

I quit the day after the first round of layoffs in October. I also loved my work and the people that I worked with. I do not trust leadership at Target and I think they are a massive disappointment from a moral standpoint. Things are not getting better for Target. That said, my time at target has made it very easy to get work. I plan on making as much if not more than I did working at target. I wish I would’ve left it sooner.

Ask for a mutual separation agreement. No need to wait.

@a9 When is that? I've heard no discussion of it.

I could see a lot of people holding the line until bonuses (whatever that looks like) then leaving soon after which I agree with - don’t walk away until you at least get that
