Snow storm WFH guidance

Got e-mail that we can WFH on Monday due to storm and there will be a relaxed office policy. Does this mean we can do only 2 days in the week and will be fine? Or do we still need to do 3 days in the week?

@fn how nice of them to send that at 7:05 ET. And no text this time.

I am the one that posted i got a check in for the week, so I guess buys me another day. But no effing way could i drive in tomorrow, the roads are an absolute mess. Rather than error on the side of caution they are going to force people into dangerous situations.

It's a joke.. I can't get out of here fast enough.

Yep that email pretty much cancelled wfh exception for the rest of the week. Storms over. Get back in office, use pto, or hit the non compliance report. Wonderful.

Got a text a few minutes ago ‘a return to normal in-office posture’ in my area for tomorrow - wth came up with that verbiage?

@ea it's under performance and talent.

I sent the notification email to my manager. Who wells had not copied on it. So I am glad I did, before it brought on other problems.

Put one in today, live in a city, no way I am digging out by tomorrow. They haven't even plowed everything yet.

Simply stating I would likely not meet in office requirements for the week due to the storm.

I don’t know why mgmt cannot say clearly wfh this week is allowed. Why do they want ppl to take risk driving on icy roads? Humanity is going away from wf leaders.

@b8 the email only talks about Monday. That is the time period MONDAY. It does not refer to any other day but MONDAY. This is not for the week.

Where the heck do we do a check in on Workday? I’m at the site but I see nothing that says check in.

@dw where do you see this? Is this LOB specific or for all impacted?

Make sure you perform a check-in on Workday.
"For 1/26 - due to severe weather, ice and snow, I will be working from home"

Manager needs to approve the check-in

In a pickle myself. I work at a call center and got the text about working from home. Great! Except my internet has been cutting in and out all weekend with the weather. I texted my boss that my internet is spotty and not working and asking what to do.

I'm worried he's either going to:
A) Tell me to risk those icy roads to come to the empty call center building.
B) Tell me that even though it's outside my control, have an occurrence for missing a day.

Wouldn't put either past Wells Fargo.

@dk
There are no leaders in WF.

The email I got from my leader was that you could work from home due to the weather in places like Minneapolis, Des Moines, etc. A "check in" would go into Workday justifying why you might not be at the 3 day per week in office. Use common sense -- if it's like -10 with -40 wind chill and snowing-- stay the f**k home.

It’s not going to thaw out until a Tuesday afternoon in DFW and the kids schools are all closed til Wednesday. The communication wasn’t specific and I have never missed WF expectations.

So I’m going to error on the side of caution and treat Monday and Tues wfh as 8 hours in office. I’m not getting in a wreck to prove my loyalty to wf, F THAT.

So is it a relaxed in office policy everywhere or just where it 's snowing?

Seriously, what do you think relaxed office policy means? It means something is different from the norm. The policy is relaxed. If the norm is 3 days, then no, genius, you dont have to do 3 days.

@b1 "A relaxed in office policy will be in place during this period, which means there will be no adverse impacts to your in-office adherence.".... "this period", sounds like you get a free pass for more than 1 day

Sounds like tomorrow will be counted a day in office even when we all WFH as instructed. That means we only have to go in 2 days this week.

@ab Wrong. what are you reading?? It’s specifically says “please plan to do so on Monday, January 26.” Nothing about all week.

Not a manager but this is a cut and paste from the notification I received.

“Enterprise Incident Management
distributed to employees who may be impacted by winter weather our teams are monitoring the winter weather conditions, which are expected to continue in our area through the weekend. If your role allows you to work from home, please plan to do so on Monday, January 26. If you work in a business critical in office role or in one of the branches, please follow your normal schedule and work location unless directed otherwise. Please contact your manager to coordinate work arrangements that support business needs. A relaxed in office policy will be in place during this period, which means there will be no adverse impacts to your in-office adherence.“

Can some manager confirm if we got that email we dont have to on site?

It sounds like 2 days maximum. My question is, since they stated, "A relaxed in office policy will be in place during this period, which means there will be no adverse impacts to your in-office adherence.", I assume this means if we don't go in all week, they won't take adverse action. It won't count against you. Fingers crossed?
