Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Optum earnings

My manager told us that Optum Care on the west coast lost over a billion dollars last year, and that we have until the end of this year to break even. I can’t help but think that means layoffs.

@ba - I agree with you. When HCP bought my group back in 2011,it was obvious how backwards their processes were. Their computer system needed updating too. Amazing what a dump they were.. the funny part.. they thought they were so smart. Lol…. Most of the HCP mgt I came across was DEI placed, showed favoritism and not the brightest bunch of folks,

OptumCare, specifically the SoCal region, tanked after HCP came on board and was put in charge. HCP was my way or the highway and had a lot of bad processes and practices in place that were forced upon everyone. So yeah, not surprised.

That region is a hot mess because Optum destroyed excellent private practices that had thrived for decades. Ran practices into the ground. Empty suits from afar, making decisions. Layoff of docs and nurses who are recognized as excellent, with no concern about patients. It’s a wonder that any clinics are functioning today, but that is because of the grit and hard work of the local staff, who make none of the decisions and get all the blowback.

"Let me check under my couch quick boss, maybe I can find it..."

What a joke. That is simply a warning that your team is going to be axed this year.
