Thread regarding Northwestern Mutual layoffs

NM insurance is a scam.

It was only a matter of time after sales people stuffing these down peoples throats that they’re going to figure it out.

Life insurance will be the same until AI makes humans immortal. FSD made auto insurance irrelevant. NM might need a new product to keep up with new technology

A scam? Are they not paying out the death claims or something?

Overpriced? maybe, but a lot of things are over priced without being an outright scam

The product is doing exactly what it is designed to do and it's actually doing a great job, so we'll disagree on this.

Where I might agree with you are the tactics used to sell the product. I'm not sure how many people out there need as much permanent life insurance as the company would like to sell them.

NM needs to look at what's happening in the real world and what the Field is actually doing. Investment Products and financial planning are what people need help with. There will always be a need to transfer some of the risk of premature death that life insurance can help with, but it's the big IRAs/401ks is where people need help with....imho
