Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Asking my boss for a layoff

I kinda want to volunteer but talking to my boss about it feels like a gamble. Could it backfire and make my remaining time here worse?

If you want to be part of the next round of layoffs, just start speaking out. My ED was part of the layoffs last April, she started speaking out and voicing her opinion on why things planned were going wrong, the higher up’s didn’t want to hear it and when layoffs started last year, she was in that group. Only difference is she had already been applying externally and got hired on at TD Bank for the same salary and job title.

Don't. Find a new job first. The job market is brutal.

Just wait it out until you find something outside of bank or externally. If you ask for a layoff, don’t be shocked if suddenly your 1-1 become more of a “coaching” and talks of performance plans are being brought up.

I’d just keep the paycheck until cut or find new. Why give this place the easier route; shaft them on the way out is my plan.
