Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Anyone from FOPS yet?

Aside from managers, any FOPS techs get hit yet?

@ef
As a current CRT I can say this is the best position I ever had at T-Mobile. My official title is Field Technician. I'm looking for a new job now so I don't have to return to the field. A few in my group feels this way also. A package would of been better for me.
Field Technician is hard on the body and isn't rewarding. It takes a special person to do it and I'm not that person anymore.

CRT data was cr-p too. Several CRTs not following work flows; doing whatever they wanted with no accountability. And yes, it went on for almost three years.

@b4 there are a few. A lot are not and are doing just enough to not get fired.

Temporary? It went on for 2.5 years! All the while SO, DM, RB, and CH told FOPs this was the way, get on board or get out; and somehow they survived the layoffs. Unfortunately, a lot of good techs and some managers left due to this BS. We could do a whole thread on this CRT model pointing out the Idiocracy.

@bj a made up test position to run analytics and work out best practices for market level operations. Never meant to be a permanent position but it lasted way longer than expected and caused shortages in market day to day operations.

@b4 definitely. Who else is going to run towards the fire at 3am in 0° weather with crazy people all around. No one really realizes what all a field tech does. The heart beat of the company. Our network would be nothing without field techs. As a CRT the last few years; I can't wait to get back in the trenches. Don't forget to thank a field tech daily.. We are the Alpha and the Omega..the closest person to the customer.

Nope, FOPS always run lean. No room to cut in FOPS. Most secure job in the company.
